First Day in Thailand

4 mountains, 4 beaches and home aren't enough for summer 2016....... (And I'm so loving my sun-kissed skin rn)
3 months ago, my research paper in discourse analysis that I have submitted for paper presentation in an international conference to be held in Thailand on May 2016 was approved. DUDE! I'M SO GOING TO THAILAND THIS SUMMER! Those were my words while I was booking my flight. I am so hyped and pumped that even it was months away, I have been making my own itinerary. I've got a week for this. I googled places in Bangkok and somewhere near Thanyaburi because I will be staying there for quite some time. I even counted the days before my flight.

And the day of my flight came, May 11, 2016. I'll be flying earlier than my colleagues (I was supposed to be with my classmates and professors but I was so 'intrimitida' and excited I went ahead HA HA HA. It was actually a good experience flying alone but a bit scary tho because I was forewarned that language barrier is at its finest in Thailand. THANK GOD FERDINAND DE SAUSSURE WAS BORN AND SIGNS AND SYMBOLS EXISTED. Anyway, My flight was at 9:30pm and we landed in Suvarnabhumi Airport at 1:30am. Dr. Lawrence Honkiss (whom I thought was Paulo Avelino at first glance) from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi picked me up.He's a Filipino but he's really good in speaking Thai. I really don't know if my hunger emanates from within because he sensed that I haven't eaten (OR JUST BECAUSE I'M TOO SKINNY OR WHAT) Good thing as well I was told by a lady that I met in NAIA that I should have had my peso exchanged to Thai Baht right before I fly because it was indeed hard to look for money exchanger at that time of the day. He assisted me in buying my food then, he sent me to the university hotel.
I found it creepy. Maybe because I was alone and it was 3 am and the curtains were too thin and there were mirrors around me. My first three minutes? I wasn't moving. Literally not moving a muscle. Oh, yeah. My eye probed the room. I felt like my senses were heightened. I turned on the TV, it reminded me of Shomba, Ju-on and Sadako. I TURNED IT OFF. I tried to open the window, it reminded me of the movie Shutter. I really hate my imagination. I checked my clock and it's 4am in the Philippines. 3 am in Thailand. I really need to get some sleep because I have been awake for 24 hours already. I turned on the aircon and that's when I drifted off.

Saw Dr. Lawrence standing at the corner holding this board with my name. THIS IS A SIGN OF HOPE. My Thailand adventure begins!
