Fantasy World in Lemery, Batangas DIY Travel Guide

By Anne Elizabeth Apolona Gumiran - 10:27 PM

Fantasy World could have been the Disneyland of the Philippines as a lot of people would say. It truly has a vast land area with fascinating Bavarian castle, wide gardens and various rides put up around which were never in motion yet remained dainty. The solitary gates and the castle are an effortless head turner as these stand tall and in bright colors along the highway past the greens and ranges of Lemery.

I have passed by this castle countless time but never have I ever thought of visiting it. I would always and only admire it from afar; all my childhood daydreams of becoming a princess coming back to me all at once. All I ever knew about it was it was once a the shooting location for a local fictional Philippine television series called Majika. Sure it was festive with resounding music all over the place, full of vibrant colors and royal bloods walking around - opposite of how it is in reality.

About Fantasy World

The colors of the castle show a harmony of aesthetics and old age

Rumor has it that the Japanese owner of the Fantasy World in Lemery, Batangas declared bankruptcy; thus, an unfinished project. Now, a Chinese realtor and businessmen named Emilio Ching (as named by one of the staff) took over but never did plans of getting it done and fully operational have been laid nor heard. Regardless, it has still become one of the frequently visited attractions in the town and the province itself since it is still open; accommodating guests on a day tour. Also, it is just some two hours away from the metro and is surrounded by different towns that are also tourist magnets.

Fantasy World is open on Mondays to Sundays. It is open to everyone from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Of course, if you would want the place to yourselves, the best time to visit is on weekdays. The place can be visited all year round but best would be around January to March and September to December  as it is windy and cool yet dry in the place in these months; thus, an ideal time to be running, sitting and walking around.

Entrance Fees

Before, they would collect a fee of Php 1,000.00 for the entrance that is good for up to ten people. But maybe due to the surge of tourists coming in to experience it, they would collect an amount of Php 100.00 per head as the entrance fee as of December 2019. Senior citizens are to pay Php 80.00.

Things to Do in Fantasy World

1. Take photos as much as you want

There are lots of spots in the place that are quite a good background for photos. A lot would visit it for its Instagram-worthiness. The good thing about it is that the management do not collect separate fees for the photo shoots.  So go ahead and bring your best dresses and get ups and take photos as much as you want.

It was not really in our plans to get in here so I was not ready at all for a shoot so lol

2. Cross the hanging bridge by the tree houses

One of the interesting spots in the theme park are the tree houses connected by a hanging bridge. It is among the spots that offers a good and wide view of the whole place. Kids are allowed to go up but should be with an accompanying adult. This view is ahead of the long, winding and partially dark ravine.

Twas short and sweet! If you are scared of heights, this may be a little frightening but the experience is great!

3. Walk around the Garden maze

One of the few things that can be done in the place is walking around the maze garden. The maze is made up of seven to eight feet-tall walls of young bamboo I reckon. Be reminded that it gets muddy in the maze on rainy days.

4. Wear the royal costumes

One of the towers surrounding the courtyard has the throne where you can actually feel like a royal blood in character. Costumes can be rented and the rate starts at Php 50.00 for each person. They would also let a group experience this for only Php 300.00. Wigs, gowns, capes and others are available for picture taking.

5. Light Snack

There are light snacks for sale at one of the towers near the courtyard such as chocolate bars, bottled water and sticks and cups of ice cream sold inside. Outside food and drinks are not allowed. The guards at the gate check the bags for these and for other items that are not allowed inside.

Setting Expectations

1. Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the theme park. You can have picnic at the parking area, though.
2. Pets are allowed inside given that they are on a leash, they wear diapers or the owners will clean up their dungs.
3. All of the rides are not operating. Visitors are not also allowed to sit nor get into it.
4. It gets really crowded on weekdays and holidays. So, if you're planning for a photo shoot for, the best time to visit the place is on weekdays.
5. Parking space is wide enough and could even accommodate buses. There is a parking fee of Php 20.00.
6. The management does not accommodate tourists overnight. There are also no nearby hotels or inns. Nearest you can get are the ones in Tagaytay City, Taal, Lipa or Lemery town proper.
